Volunteers will help you with your winter vacation homework. You can also review your school’s materials and study Japanese. We also have time to play games and work on handicrafts together.

Application forms are distributed to the elementary and junior high schools within the city. If you are interested, please contact the schools or apply directly at the International Center (Kure City Hall 1st floor).

【Beware of Suspicious Online Shopping Sites】

We have received reports of people who saw online shopping sites offering discounts on brand-name goods and hard-to-find rice, ordered and paid for their items, only to have them never arrive. If you suspect anything suspicious, refrain from using the sites.
If you fall victim to a scam, immediately contact your credit card company or the bank where you made the transfer. You should also report the incident to the nearest police station.

● Rare products are available in the market
● Rice and brand-name goods are unnaturally cheap
● The Japanese language on the website is unnatural
● Payment methods are limited. The bank account to which payments are made is in a personal name
● Cancellation, return, and refund policies are not stated
● The business’ name, address, and phone number are not clearly stated
● Internet searches for business information often contain false information, including information about unrelated businesses
● The contact email address is from a free email service provider
● The contact phone number is out of service

【A multilingual life guidebook has been published】
Even if you leave a company, you are still required to be covered by health insurance in case of illness or injury. If you are no longer eligible for health insurance, please follow one of the following procedures:
“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
