【The Family Register System Will Be Easier to Use From Friday, March 1st.】

〇Family Register：A document used to register and publicly certify the status of Japanese (persons with Japanese nationality) from birth to death (birth, marriage, death, family relationships, etc.)
※When a foreigner marries a Japanese person, a family register is not created for the foreigner, but the information about the marriage with the foreigner (name, date of birth, nationality) is included in the family register of the Japanese spouse.
〇Place of Registered Domicile：The place where family register is
※Registered domicile is the location specified in the family register when the family register was created, and address is the current place of residence.
〇Certified copy of Family Register：A document certifying all matters recorded in family register.
〇Certified copy of closed Family Register：Documents proving information on old family register (state where no one left due to marriage, death, etc.)

《Items that are Becoming Easier》
●You can now obtain a copy of your Family Register/Certified copy of Closed Family Register from a municipal office other than your place of Registered Domicile (only for family registers of direct family members such as the person, spouse, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren,
●etc.) In principle, Certified copy of Family Register attached to the Family Register’s notification is not required.

【A multilingual life guidebook has been published】

“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
You can also download it from the Kure International Exchange Association’s website.
