【Be Prepared for Typhoons】

The season when typhoon approaches and lands 　From July to October
When a typhoon lands, it causes storms and heavy rain.

《Safety Measures Before a Typhoon Comes》
●Check your house and surrounding area and bring in anything which might get blown away.
●If the drain is clogged with garbage, the water will overflow and it is dangerous. If you notice it, please remove the garbage and sand in order to improve the rainwater drainage.
●Confirm where and how to get to safe locations such as a relative’s house or a friend’s house in order to quickly evacuate there.
●Prepare your emergency bag and make preparations for evacuation early.
※The emergency bag is a bag (rucksack) that holds all the necessary items for evacuation. Keep it in a place where you can take it out immediately.

【Recruitment of Applicants for Moving Into Municipal Housing (Lottery System) Starting from September 4th (Thursday)】

●Eligibility: Those who meet all of the moving-in application requirements of ① to ⑥ below
① The applicant is currently having trouble finding a place to live.
② In principle, there are relatives who currently live together with the applicant or plan to live together with the applicant
③ The total income of all household members is below the occupancy income standard
④ The applicant has not been behind on paying municipal tax and municipal housing rent until now
⑤ The applicant, and/or the person who intends to live together with the applicant is not a member of an organized crime group
⑥ The applicant is an adult
※Please contact us for detailed application qualifications.

●Application: mail your application to Kabushiki-kaisha Kuresen during September 4th (Thursday) to 12th (Friday). (Application is valid if stamped by September 12th (Friday))
※Properties will be announced on September 4th (Thursday). Application information (application slips) are distributed at the Jyuutaku Seisaku-Ka and each civic center.

●Required documents: “Kure Municipal Housing Application Form”, “Lottery Number Notification Postcard” and “Lottery Result Notification Postcard” (Please affix stamps to all of them by yourself.)
※Lottery winners will need additional documents for the final examination of their eligibility.

【Looking for Pickleball Participants】

Why not have fun while improving your physical strength? It’s a popular lifelong sport that’s gaining popularity in the United States. It’s easy to play and just the right amount of exercise, so it can be enjoyed by people of all ages and genders, and even beginners.

Even if you leave a company, you are still required to be covered by health insurance in case of illness or injury. If you are no longer eligible for health insurance, please follow one of the following procedures:
“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
