【Please Fill Out the National Census】

The national census, conducted once every five years, will be conducted from September 20th to October 8th.
This is an important survey that will help us identify the population and actual state of households and will be useful in improving our lives and creating more livable cities.

●Target Population
All people living in Japan as of October 1st, 2025, regardless of nationality or age.

●Distribution of Printed Census Questionnaires
From September 20th to 30th, census takers with “Census Taker ID Card” will personally visit each household to distribute the census questionnaires.

●How to Respond
・Online response period: September 20th to October 8th
Please log in to the response site “Census Online” using the login ID and access key provided on your census questionnaires and respond to the questions.

【First-Year Students Entering Next School Year Can Apply to Change Their Designated School】

First-year students in elementary, junior high, and compulsory education schools can apply to change their designated schools for special reasons.

The application form for changing designated school and the necessary supporting documents can be downloaded from the Kure City Hall website. If there are application periods (1) and (2), please apply during period (1) unless there are special circumstances.

【A multilingual life guidebook has been published】
Even if you leave a company, you are still required to be covered by health insurance in case of illness or injury. If you are no longer eligible for health insurance, please follow one of the following procedures:
“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
