【Issuance of Written Confirmation of Payment of National Health Insurance, Late-Stage Senior Citizen Insurance, and Nursing Care Insurance Premiums (for Year-End Adjustment)】

All the insurance premiums paid during 2025 are eligible for a deduction of social insurance premiums.
If you need a written confirmation of payment for year-end adjustment at your place of work, please apply at the following office by the end of the year.
At the end of January, 2026, you will receive a notice of the amount paid for your final tax return.
※Until now, insurance premiums for National Health Insurance, Late-Stage Senior Citizen Insurance, and Nursing Care Insurance have been sent together in one letter, but from January, 2026, they will be sent separately.

※ Inquiries about the amount of money cannot be made over the telephone.

●What the applicant needs
An insurance card or a photo ID issued by a government office. If someone other than the applicant or a family member of the same household applies, a letter of proxy is required.
※A “Certificate of Deduction” for National Pension Insurance premiums will be sent by the Japan Pension Service in early November.

【Beware of Phone Calls Claiming to be from the Police!】

We have received inquiries regarding phone calls claiming to be from the police.
These tactics include displaying phone numbers with the last four digits “0110,” which are often used by police stations, or inviting consumers into LINE video calls and showing their police ID to gain their trust, extracting personal information, and making them transfer money as part of an investigation.

●The police will never contact you via LINE messages or video calls.
●Even if the number appears to be from the police, ask the caller which police station he or she is from and his or her name. Hang up the phone, look up the police station’s phone number, and confirm that the caller is actually a police officer.
●Do not trust people easily, and never give out personal information to the caller.
●If you are concerned, consult a consumer affairs center or the police.

Even if you leave a company, you are still required to be covered by health insurance in case of illness or injury. If you are no longer eligible for health insurance, please follow one of the following procedures:
“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
