【City/Prefectural Tax, Income Tax Return Declaration】

If you have an address in the city as of January 1st and had income during the previous year (January 1st to December 31st of the previous year), please fill out the previous year’s revenue and income by March 15th of each year. You will be required to submit a city tax/prefectural tax return.

Those whose income is only employment income and city/prefectural tax and income tax are not deducted from employment income must file a tax return.

Those who have income from land rent, rent, dividends, etc. in addition to employment income or public pension income, and those who wish to receive deductions for miscellaneous losses, medical expenses, etc., must file a tax return.

However, those who have filed a income tax return do not need to file a city/prefectural tax return.

①You can file your tax return without going to the filing venue.
●To avoid crowds, please submit city/prefectural tax returns by mail whenever possible. Where to submit your tax return: 〒737-8501 [Address not required] Kure City Hall, Municipal Tax Division
●Stamps are not required if you submit your tax return at the dedicated tax return mailbox located at each tax return venue, municipal tax division, or at each civic center counter.
●In mid-January, you will be able to prepare city and prefectural tax returns from the city website, so please take advantage of this.

②At the declaration venue, applications will be accepted using numbered tags.
The reception hours are listed on the number tags distributed at the registration venue.
●Period: February 16th (Friday) – March 15th (Friday), 8:30-17:00 (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays)
●Location: Kure City Hall, 3rd floor, Municipal Tax Division

③If you wish to visit the declaration venue, you can make a reservation online in advance.
●Reservation period: February 1st (Thursday) to March 15th (Friday) declaration reception dates
●Reservation reception period: January 22nd (Monday) 9:00 to 17:00, until two days before the reservation date (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays)
●Reservation method: Reservations can be made 24/7 from the reservation website　https://coubic.com/shiminzeikure/booking_pages (phone reservation not available)

【A multilingual life guidebook has been published】

“The Kure Life Guidebook for Foreigners” has been published in English, Chinese, Portuguese, and Vietnamese. It contains a lot of useful information for foreigners about life and administrative procedures.
It is distributed free of charge at the International Exchange Center on the 1st floor of the Kure City Hall, Tobu Chiku Foreign Resident Comprehensive Consultation Counter in Hiro Shimin Center, and every local Civic Center.
